We love Bakers Yard—independent hospitality at its best, and here is why...

Tucked away in Little Kelham, this microbakery has quietly become one of our absolute go-to recommendations when we’re exploring off-tour eats in Sheffield.

Every bake and dish here is made from scratch with a deep respect for seasonality and local provenance. They don't overcomplicate things—just simple, exceptional preparation that lets core ingredients shine, using local legends like Our Cow Molly butter and Yorkshire Organic Millers flour.

Why we keep going back:

The Best Quiche: Hands down the best quiche I have ever had—light, crisp pastry with rich, incredibly cheesy, flavourful fillings. The tomato and fennel side salad was excellent too.

Seasonal Savouries & Bakes: Rich mushroom & roasted squash pies, freshly loaded focaccia sandwiches made with house sourdough, and decadent seasonal berry cakes.

Beyond the Counter: On top of being featured in the Good Food Guide for their community focus and seasonal menu, they also create incredible bespoke cakes and offer private catering.

We even love the small details, like water stored in the fridge for you to help yourself and the neat cutlery and napkin hampers on each table (having to hunt down clean cutlery elsewhere is a pet hate of ours!). It is the small details that elevate an already brilliant food offering.

This is independent hospitality at its best, and exactly the kind of local gem we love celebrating across the city.
