  • 20-40 students per Food Hall Experience - A guided exploration of Sheffield’s food hall, showcasing local street food and international cuisines as well as a talk and tasting session with local craft chocolate maker Bullion.

  • 8-15 students per City Food Culture Tour - A walking tour featuring tastings and discussions on local and international food culture

TASTE & LEARN EXPERIENCES

Food Hall Itinerary:

Interactive, Hands-on and Immersive…

  • 10.30am Meet at Sheffield Plate Food Hall in Orchard Square.

  • Session One - Students complete a stuctured learning task using our Food Hall Activity Workbook, which helps familiarise students with the food hall, vendors, their menus and dishes - view sample workbook

  • 3 Courses included - 2 courses from a range of street food vendors, including Latin American, Sri Lankan, Korean and Italian, PLUS a dessert.

  • Hear first-hand industry stories from a Street Food Vendor hear in a Q&A session. Hear their story, how they run their business and how the dishes are made - view sample questions.

  • Talk and tasting from local artisan chocolate maker Bullion Chocolate - hear how bean-to-bar craft chocolate is made from this award-winning chocolate maker and sample some of their incredible chocolate as well as one of their brownies for dessert.

  • A short walk and history talk up to Leah's Yard for a look around and some free time to also have a look at Cambridge Street Collective - Europe's largest purpose-built food hall.

  • Minimum students, 20, maximum 40.

City Food Culture Tour:

  • 11am Meet at Sheffield Moor Market. Tour of Sheffield’s food market and its global cuisines. Hear about its history and current traders. Sample Nepalese Street Food.

  • Visit Oseyo Korean Supermarket. Hear about Korean food and sample an Asian sweet treat.

  • Visit a Neapolitan pizzeria, hear more about pizza origins and sample a slice or two.

  • Visit Sheffield Plate Food Hall. Enjoy a street food dish (either curry or tacos). Foodhall Workbook activity.

  • Visit Chocolate Bar by Bullion. Hear how craft chocolate is made, sample some of their award-winning products and enjoy a brownie or hot chocolate for dessert.

  • If time, we will visit Cambridge Street Collective - Europe’s largest purpose-built food hall, which has 20 vendors offering a wide range of international cuisine.

  • We will also include some history and cultural facts about Sheffield as we move from venue to venue.

  • Minimum students, 10, maximum 15.

  • Perfect for smaller groups or enrichment weeks,
